Yes, today we have a tour in Arab Street. As you can see from the name itself, it is a street full of culture of the Arabs. Stepping into the street, one can see the significant traditions of the Arabs.
Look at my excited face!
I could not wait to see what the shops offer!! Yes, I am a shopaholic and will chance upon every opportunity to shop!! LAUGHS!
There are many textiles shops selling so many fabrics!
I could see the beautiful designs on every fabric, neatly woven and sequinned with tiny gold patterns. I was really amazed on how these Arabians could come up with some unique yet wonderful designs. They must have painstakingly done each and every single one of them, with patience and all.
However, we were not allowed to take any pictures. But thanks to Soon Lee, as she bought these textiles at one go! You got to look at them! They are different from what we have back in Korea!

Next stop, there is this carpet shop which sells many many carpets, with so many designs!
That Indian shop owner was furious and demanded that we have to buy it. Fortunately, tour guide went over to help us resolve the problem.
From what we heard from the tour guide, that carpet costs about $8000 dollars, and it was imported from Iran! By since the spilt portion could be easily wiped off and there isn’t any stain (its mineral water), the shop owner decided to let the matter rest.
Soon Lee wanted to buy beads, -. - She is forever buying textiles and beads. The shop sells many beads and shiny little stones meant for decorations, and you could find almost any design there!
Overheard this hilarious conversation of a fat lady haggling money with the Indian shop owner.
Lady: (in a whiny tone) Eh, I buy so many, give me discounts lah.
And she gave this seducing smile!!!
Indian shop owner: Errr, we sell very cheap already Mdm.
Lady: (still attempting) Can lah, can lah. I really buy alot leh.
Indian shop owner: ......Okay lah Okay lah.
Can’t imagine how we laughed our heads off at that sight!
Hmm, if such things happen in Korea?
It was really hot and sunny, and I was sweating profusely. However, something attracted my attention. :)
RATTAN BASKET FOR MY CUTE LITTLE MINI!!! (That’s my darling puppy fyi)
Saw this trishaw man. :D
What a big temple!
Very very hungry!! (After all that anxiety -.-)
Chanced upon this good looking restaurant, and decided to try it. Great ambience, really!
Dark, scary stairs!
Love this ambience alot!
The menu was filled with Indian food! Or should I say Arab food? :)
Hmm it looks delicious!
Although it’s my first time trying, but it taste really good! Even the waiter is so friendly! He even offered to help us take pictures!
As usual, Kim Jung is 'overly' friendly; he ended up having a conversation with the waiter!
Kim Jung: hey we are from Korea, and are on a student exchange programme. This place is really great!
Waiter: Laughs. Oh that’s nice to see you guys visiting our restaurant! What are you guys studying there?
Kim Jung: We are going to be the future fashion designers! Remember us!
Waiter: Laughs. Well, that’s really cool! Don’t forget me too! Anyway, I am a student too, and I am just working part time here. I am on vacation now. Wow, even local students came here to work! I thought there are just Arabs working here. Laughs.
From another table, I overheard the conversation of one group of people.
Man One: Hey, workload is really stressed today. I don’t even think I can survive today.
Man Two: Hey dude, that’s why we came here to chill. What flavour do you guys want?
Man Three: Let’s get the apple mint! I am craving for that.
Man Two: Yeah, lets chill down, later still have to go back to work.
So, even working adults came here to relax! We were wondering what sheesha is, and asked the friendly waiter.
So that’s what it is!
We decided to try the apple mint flavour, the most popular flavour in the restaurant.
My first virgin try.
Watch Soon Lee go!
Soon, it was time to go. Really reluctant! Tour guide says that that the ambience at night is really different with all the orange light and all. Many youngsters will also come out at night for the sheesha.
WOOHOO! Tour guide gave us a chocolate each! KAMSA HAMIDA! :)))
Last words for this super long post, (hey sorry people, really excited hence too many words haha) : I LOVE ARAB STREETS! Shall visit this place again and stay till night falls!
